Using a 10M capital base requires high-integrity data. When "synthetic action" and "influencer-driven rumors" (like the Giannis/Kalshi stake) drive volume, the signal is corrupted. Prediction markets are only as good as their resistance to manipulation.
If these platforms want institutional respect, they need to act like exchanges, not sportsbooks. The transition from "betting on black" to "hedging real-world risk" is where the true value lies.

Prediction markets in general are kind of a cool innovation, when used well. The question, though, is that last part: when are they being used well, and who gets to make that call? I am very certain the marketing around Kalshi, and things like Giannis Antetokounmpo starting a trade rumor to drive volume before disclosing he was a partner/investor are on the wrong side of "when used well", similar to derivatives on underlying prediction markets driving synthetic action. There are going to be rules. Will it be the states? Will it be the CFTC? I kind of think it doesn't matter, because neither of them is cool with "hey bet $200 on black to pay your rent, it works every time" as marketing to retail.

Debo contradecir. Presidente @petrogustavo: aunque haya buenas intenciones, no hay demostración empírica de que nuevo sistema de salud vaya a lograr mejor salud. La evidencia exige teoría sólida y filigrana de aplicación real—métricas, operación, evaluación—que hoy no existen.
