They say they use the power of football to build bridges, to change the moods of millions and bring people together in a divided world. But it's all a lie. Right now, FIFA is just pitting people against each other to make a buck.

But everyone has their story. I'm far from the only person experiencing this bit of World Cup sadness. Which, in the grand scheme of the world at large, is smaller than microscopic. Nevertheless, FIFA makes all these grand claims about creating joy...

FIFA's World Cup ticket resell marketplace is disgusting. A majority of the nosebleed seats are listed at $1k+. Realistically, most people re-selling tickets rn--two months out from the tournament--never had any plans on attending a match in the first place.
