all this deepseek talk reminds me of a trip to china in 08. I was in a meeting with some of the internal economists and I asked a simple question about what they thought GDP was tracking at. The guy coyly smiled and asked me what I thought it should be. In one hand he was twirling his pencil and in the other bouncing an eraser... I never traded China economic data from that day forward.
