Women and queer people are all influenced by patriarchy and subsequently so is their relationship to sex and desire. Peoples’ desires aren’t created in a vacuum. This shouldn’t be a controversial statement.

The issue with the sex positivity movement (imo) is that it does not take into consideration that women’s sexuality and desires are often heavily groomed by patriarchy and misogyny. Sex is not inherently good or liberating.
