The last 9 months have been tough for many Mohamed Salah fans. From the drama with Slot, deciding to terminate his Liverpool contract, English media attacking him nonstop, his Anfield farewell and now this bizarre mess with Besiktas. I wish Salah will take a step back and look at his rich legacy and the amazing success he achieved over the years. At this stage of his career the Turkish media, Turkish league and Besiktas are not a wise move and will be messy. For Salah to play at the Conference League at this stage of his career is painful to watch by many of his fans. Hope he cuts his salary to fit with many big European teams that play in the Champions League. A €25m salary doesn’t work for clubs like Roma, Inter, Dortmund, etc. We know he still has 2-3 years at the top level playing in a league like Serie A or Bundesliga. For Salah to continue playing at the Champions League at this stage of his career will be a joy to watch by many of his fans. That said, Salah doesn’t owe us anything. For 10 years he gave many of us hope and happiness. We should support him regardless. Turkey might be a family decision, a big pay before retirement or he decided on semi-retirement in Istanbul. Always a fan and will always support him.
