In the Nigerian context, hiring a psychologist isn't common, and that extend to sports as well. But a few clubs are making a genuine efforts. The most prominent examples I can remember from last year are Shooting Stars bringing in Habeeb Opeyemi as their club psychologist. Kwara United also appointed Yomi Olatunbosun and Bendel Insurance got Celina Abayomi, who has an academic background. Coaches acknowledge the problem. The need is real. Even Finidi George recently admitted his Rivers United players suffered psychological fatigue after losing to RS Berkane in the Champions league. Unfortunately, many clubs still rely on coaches and management to handle psychological demands. The system is reacting too slowly and the demand is far outpacing the supply.

1. All information about Shooting Stars players and contract duration is on our website ⬇️

2. We don't have 75 players on our payroll.
3. We have 39 registered NPFL players.
4. Out of the 39 registered players, five players are U17 kids.
5. All the old players that we inherited signed a one-year contract.
6. We have been able to strengthen our contract negotiations and durations. Hence, we have 90% of the new players signed for more than a one-year contract.
7. If you can't check the website, I have attached our registered players on the website to this post.
8. I am inviting the fans to be at our training session and check out the numbers as I mentioned.
9. There are political challenges with government clubs but we have been able to manage such hurdles by sending a lot of players on loan.
10. We apologize for the Oyo State FA Cup defeat. It's our first season and we have retained our NPFL status for next season. We can build on the success and find stability in the second year.
In the third year, I'm optimistic that we will challenge for major titles.
