Lithuania 🇱🇹 was the first country in the EU 🇪🇺 to just shut off Russian gas by choice and go fully energy independent from Russia. Back in 2014, the LNG terminal “Independence” in Klaipėda made it possible to buy gas from all over the world, from the US to Norway, bypassing Gazprom altogether.
