Some soil bacteria (extremophiles) have survived for billions of years in harsh, nutrient-poor conditions. They’re among Earth’s oldest life forms—proof that soil is anything but lifeless. 🌍🦠 At Soil For Humanity, we’re here to share why that matters. #SoilHealthMatters

Clay soil? Improve it with organic matter (compost, cover crops), humic acid (for structure), and reduced tilling. Use deep-rooted covers like daikon radish, and raise beds for drainage. Avoid compacting. Clay holds nutrients—just needs the right touch! 🌱 #SoilHealthMatters

Did you know? Palaeosols—ancient soils—are time capsules of Earth's past. 🌍 Scientists study them to uncover climate patterns, track atmospheric changes, and predict future shifts, helping us manage resources more sustainably. 🔎🌱 #soilhealthmatters

Soil truly is LIFE. Just as our bodies rely on internal balance for health, the earth depends on its soil to sustain life. When we care for the soil, we nurture the foundation of everything that feeds us, hydrates us, and sustains us. Let’s protect it.

Today's #SoilFact: There are instances of certain types of fungi living in the soil that emit a faint glow, a phenomenon called bioluminescence. It is more commonly seen in tropical soils with rich organic matter. Help us spread the message that #SoilHealthMatters!

@soilforhumanity I didn’t realize how important soil health was until this documentary I watched called Common Ground. It showed me all the good that healthy soil offers and WOW it is a lot. I hope that this movie is able to get a lot of traction when it goes on streaming to make an impact.
