As spreading ideologies are eating brains, they get smarter while the hosts get dumber

Science is the organized search for truth, which requires informed doubt. "Belief in science" can turn into a secular religion, where credentialed priests give spiritual guidance in ways that cannot be questioned without risking ostracism. That's incompatible with science.

Read holy books and keep in mind: they are ancient primers and manuals for state building. Authors and curators were fully rational, but audience and contemporary interpreters are not. Original intentions got often lost, and based on different value systems and ontologies.
