Anyway, the original design doesn't have the problem the Arc is trying to solve. The government needs to enforce environmental and traffic laws. Finally, allow professionals to manage the park better. Regardless, don't blame the Architect.

Contemporary elitism in Yoruba land found one of its earliest expressions in Egba land, particularly in Abeokuta, where a unique cultural transformation began to unfold in the 19th century. With the return of formerly enslaved Africans, many of whom had been exposed to European education, religion, and social structures, alongside the influence of missionaries, Egba society experienced a distinct shift in both governance and aesthetics. These returnees introduced new ideas that blended Western influence with indigenous Yoruba traditions, creating a hybrid identity that would shape modern expressions of status, leadership, and fashion. Traditional Yoruba fashion, while deeply rooted in pre-colonial heritage, began to evolve. Regal symbols such as the crown of the Alake of Egbaland were, in some instances, reinterpreted with subtle inspiration from European monarchical designs. not as imitation, but as adaptation within a changing sociopolitical context. Similarly, the staff of authority, known as Opa Ase, saw stylistic variations. In Egba land, these were sometimes beaded and elaborately designed, reflecting both indigenous craftsmanship and the evolving visual language of authority influenced by colonial encounters. Variants of such staffs remain visible in different forms across parts of Nigeria today. What we now see in movements like Egbaliganza, popularly portrayed in Lisabi festival today is not merely a fashion statement, but a conscious cultural renaissance. It is a revival of a longstanding Egba identity often captured in the phrase “Egba ni olaju ti bere” (Egba is the cradle of modern civilization). Just as the Egba people once drew from global exposure to reshape their cultural expression, they are again leading a revival, this time by reinterpreting historical styles to assert identity, unity, and continuity. Egbaliganza, therefore, is more than aesthetics; it is community revitalization, cultural rebirth, and a reaffirmation of a people’s place in the evolving narrative of Yoruba civilization. A city has slums. Two options: bulldoze and move residents to new housing, or upgrade the slum where it stands. New housing sounds better. Chile tested both for 20 years. It wasn't even close.

If we don't educate children in history, culture, languages, religion, traditions, ethics and critical thinking preferring instead to limit them to STEM subjects, then we are raising a generation of easy to manipulate morons. This is becoming ever more obvious today.

Nigerians are not greedy. Thousands of us are doing this for FREE. Since 2021 that I co-founded JCS (jcscholar.org) with my friend, over 100 people have used that platform and get fully funded scholarship across the world and most of them in the United States. But you won't comment about platforms like JCS and her likes.

If I coach you, you cant fail. Gods annointing is with me. Distraction is what is delaying your success. Put your phone away for one hour a day. Be laser focus for that one hour. Then go back and play. If you do that consistently, it will compound over a long time.❤️

Why does your savings account pay you almost nothing in interest, but your bank quietly earns billions from the Federal Reserve? It’s not an accident. When you deposit money, your bank parks it with the Fed and earns a top-of-market interest rate. They pass almost none of those earnings back to you. Multiply that across $3 trillion in reserves, and it adds up to a peak of $200 billion a year flowing to commercial banks. ESP co-founder @chrishughes and Josh Younger argue in a new report published by @BrookingsInst , this isn't neutral 'central bank plumbing', it's a hidden subsidy to big banks, funded by depositors and taxpayers. Chris breaks down who's winning, who's losing, and what could be done differently in his latest Substack: chrishughes.substack.com/p/the-price-of…
