Bun's Rust rewrite is pretty impressive, but the code is..... well, I'm no Rust expert, but I'm really interested in what will be the strategy to maintain it, if the rewrite is to be kept. Like, it is impossible to maintain current codebase for humans, no chance. Will the team become fulltime fuzzers and benchmarkers for whatever Claude generates? Or will they do another infinite tokens dump to make it into "idiomatic" Rust? Regardless of what happens, Bun is the perfect guinea pig for such experiments - it's a real world project with some real adoption, but ultimately stakes are very low, because there are alternative runtimes that you can just switch to if it turns out to be bad

Complicated. Cosmic radiation? A real threat to chips. Earth already has deserts for solar. Oceans for cooling. And infrastructure that doesn’t require rockets. Before moving AI to orbit, maybe we should fix energy grids on Earth. Space isn’t automatically cheaper. It’s just further away. Innovation is powerful. But physics, logistics, and economics still vote.

Since today is the last day of the old year, a 3d art piece featuring a portal seemed like a good choice. It's been now, I think, 3 years since I started sharing my 3d art, but I'm primarily author, not an artist. Do you enjoy seeing it here? Should I continue it in 2026?

Proof if needed the Washing Machine only uses around 200wh per Mini/Eco 30min Cycle and mine is quite old so modern ones should use even less right 🤔👍 It draws 2.2kw but only for short periods turning the drum & most energy is used in the Spin Cycle lasting several minutes

So there we have it Conclusion: the two 130ah batteries aren't delivering anywhere near expected or peukert adjusted rating Only delivering 67ah real world under load which is eqv roughly to 80ah (c100) battery rating Bugg×ry Bollxcks! 🤬

Solar ongoing: So to investigate the Battery issue I did further real world tests Charged up to 100% (no load at all not even inverter standby) Watched DVD in evening & ran Fridge-Freezer overnight. Left battery with no load to get a proper 'Resting Voltage' (only true measure)
