what i think about sukuna’s marks.ᐣ i honestly did consider the possibility that they could have originally been some form of punishment marks or tattoos given to criminals during that era. but if that were the case, i imagine he would’ve received them much earlier in life, probably as a teenager or before fully becoming the king of curses we know - because realistically, once sukuna reached his peak, i genuinely cannot imagine anyone being brave enough to get close to him with ink and needles when he could probably crush someone’s skull with one hand for even attempting it. the other theory i really like is that the marks came from rituals or practices we simply do not know about yet. there’s something very ceremonial and unnatural about them, almost like they are tied to cursed techniques, spiritual symbolism, or some kind of transformation rather than ordinary tattoos. honestly, that explanation feels more fitting for someone like sukuna.

the reason we never get anywhere when discussing gojo is because for some reason everyone talks about him and his teenage self as if they're interchangeable when they are vastly different people personality wise, morals wise, etc.
