How best do you retain words when learning a new language? As Schopenhauer says, without use one tends to forget... sometimes it seems, rather quickly. I suppose it depended on the quality of my attention at the time of learning the word(s). (Just a few words, I keep forgetting).

@Johngalt1991686 I heard of them from Trey Azagthoth mentioning them in the Blessed are the Sick booklet—as I did many bands (kid at the time). I kept putting these guys off because I thought they looked goofy or even extreme—something. Of course how dumb, but eventually I would know better.

@Tim54242076 @SchopenhauerNow I try to be as direct as possible. Without hierarchy of b understanding though, there can be can no development. Most people can't read A. N. Whitehead for example. But he wants anything but to be an obscurantist—it's that he has to use words (which reify what he means, tricky).

Freud said suffering comes from repression. Schopenhauer said it comes from existence itself. Who got closer to the truth?
