Reservation is not a misuse, it is a corrective measure against centuries of social and educational exclusion. To call it misuse is to ignore the brutal reality of caste-based discrimination that still exists in India. 1. One Family One Reservation– This sounds logical only on the surface, but caste-based discrimination is not faced by one individual alone, it is faced by every generation. Social stigma does not vanish just because one member of the family got an opportunity. 2. One Time Reservation – Reservation is not charity, it is a right to ensure level playing field. A single opportunity does not automatically erase systemic inequality. Discrimination continues in schools, colleges, housing, jobs, marriages, and even daily interactions. Also, it is wrong to think reservation only benefits jobs and promotions. The real aim is representation – ensuring that historically oppressed communities have a fair share in decision-making spaces. Instead of trying to curtail reservation, the real question should be: Why even after 75 years of independence, caste discrimination still exists? Reservation will be needed until true social equality becomes a reality.
