@Narayani07 Would you hire her, if you knew? In most cases, the answer would be no... So a candidate would not want to disclose this voluntarily because this puts her candidature in grey area.. why to put it at stake, just because for 6 months, you have greater personal responsibilities

Y’all so triggered by this post that y’all forgot to read it. So I’ll explain. There is, in this terrible and unethical world, a small set of people who keep their word. The way business gets done and relationships are kept in this section of the professional world is truly remarkable. It’s a pleasure to work with such people. But y’all think the only way out is to shop offers. It’s not. There is another way. Go find these people. Get good enough that you can play in that league. Spend your effort there instead of spraying, praying and shopping offers. Programming is a quest for Truth. That’s why the best programmers are unmanageable. They don’t care for much else except truth. This is also the reason they don’t shop offers.

Just met a candidate who said that they're due to join some place in 15 days and were looking for a better offer. I politely declined to continue the call. Candidates, I understand the compulsions but offer shopping is not elite behaviour. It reeks of desperation and tells the world that your word is worth nothing to you. And then the only people who would associate with you are those to whom this is not important. I'm not saying I am a paragon of virtue but I have never shopped an offer in my life. And neither has any other elite player I know. It somehow never occurs. The whole vibe is just....off. If you're shopping offers I have a word of advice for you. Learn to program and to love programming. Go find others who love programming. the world is full of zero sum players playing zero sum games and a small handful of positive sum, infinite game players desperately looking for each other.
