#Horrific In Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, a Dalit family was brutally beaten in public for not giving enough “donation.” A priest had demanded 100Kg of wheat, but the family said they could only afford 50 kg. Enraged by this, a group of Hindus mercilessly assaulted them.

Rattled by @RahulGandhi’s visit to Great Nicobar Island on April 28, 2026, the Modi Govt issued a press release on the project and is now diverting attention away from the impending ecological disaster. Here is our detailed response to that press note of May 1, 2026.

Eight reasons China made it 1) Flattened social hierarchies 2) Pushed gender equality 3) Never allowed the West any control 4) Pushed education & nutrition for all 5) Locked religion behind private doors 6) Set national S&T goals and achieved it 7) Played the West's game against the West itself 8) Kept the top corporates under the State's boot. 1, 2, 4 and 5 transformed the society. 5 further made society rational & progressive. 3 and 7 kept it sovereign. 6 prepared it for 21st century. 8 allowed for common prosperity & not naked loot. Despite its authoritarianism and surveillance state character, it did a lot for the common Chinese citizen (bar a few groups like rural elderly etc.) and miraculously escaped the poverty trap. Very difficult, though desirable, for many other nations to even copy bits and pieces of this playbook. #China #Prosperity #Playbook

India's grid just hit 277 GW. New all-time record. The May heatwave is now worse than April, and we have 3 more months of summer left. Here is what happened in the last 48 hours that nobody is talking about. 19 thermal power plants are running on critical coal stock — less than 4 days of supply. Rajasthan imported 6 GW from neighbouring grids, 50 percent more than its allocation. Two states issued load-shedding orders despite the Centre telling them not to. The grid frequency dropped to 49.75 Hz three times yesterday. For non-engineers: below 49.7 Hz, automatic load-shedding kicks in to prevent cascade failure. We are 0.05 Hz away from automatic blackouts. Solar is doing its job during the day — 62 GW at noon. But the evening ramp is becoming unsurvivable. Between 5 PM and 7 PM, the grid needs to add 55 GW in two hours as solar drops off. That ramp rate did not exist in any planning document. India's power planners assumed 277 GW by 2030. We hit it in May 2026. The gap between planning assumptions and reality is now 4 years. Every infrastructure investment thesis in India needs to be rewritten starting with this number.

Rahul Gandhi just walked through the forest Modi wants to flatten. Here’s what won’t make it to the press release: → Govt told Parliament 8.65 lakh trees would be felled. Scientists say the actual number is 1 CRORE+ → Adani Group filed an official expression of interest to build the Great Nicobar port → ANIIDCO literally self-certified its own environmental clearance; its MD was simultaneously the Environment & Forests Secretary of the islands → The Chief Secretary who chairs ANIIDCO’s board was also on the committee investigating complaints against the project → Coastal maps were quietly reclassified from CRZ-1A (prohibited) → CRZ-B (permitted) to make the port “legal”; with zero public disclosure of the methodology → The Nicobarese tribes withdrew their consent in 2022, citing unsettled forest rights. The project moved forward anyway This is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Two national parks. The last home of the Shompen people; all 200 of them. And the government is bulldozing it for a port that Adani wants to run. Rahul Gandhi is right. This isn’t a project. It’s a heist in the tricolour’s clothing.
Rahul Gandhi@RahulGandhi

I travelled through Great Nicobar today. These are the most extraordinary forests I have ever seen in my life. Trees older than memory. Forests that took generations to grow. The people on this island are equally beautiful - both the adivasi communities and the settlers - but they are being robbed of what is rightfully theirs. The government calls what it is doing here a “Project.” What I have seen is not a project. It is millions of trees marked for the axe. It is 160 square kilometres of rainforest condemned to die. It is communities that have been ignored while their homes have been snatched away. This is not development. This is destruction dressed in development’s language. So I will say it plainly, and I will keep saying it: what is being done in Great Nicobar is one of the biggest scams and gravest crimes against this country’s natural and tribal heritage in our lifetime. It must be stopped. And it can be stopped - if Indians choose to see what I have seen.

Rahul Gandhi has done it AGAIN. The man with the perpetual passport in his pocket has landed in Great Nicobar, posed in front of a few trees, and produced yet another video designed for one purpose only. To sabotage a project of national, strategic and defence importance for India. This is not concern. This is a pattern. Every single project that strengthens India gets the same treatment from this man. Rafale was a scam. Vande Bharat was an insult. Chandrayaan was a stunt. The new Parliament was a coronation. CAA was anti Muslim. Sengol was theatre. Every road, every port, every airport, every defence deal that makes Bharat stronger becomes, in his vocabulary, a “scam” or a “crime.” Whose interests is he actually serving when he travels thousands of kilometres only to demoralise a project that sits at the doorstep of the Strait of Malacca, through which 30 percent of global maritime trade passes? Whose strategy is he advancing when he tries to block India’s answer to China’s String of Pearls, the very port that will end our dependence on Colombo and Singapore for transhipment? Now let us bring out the data Rahul Gandhi will never put in his videos. The total area of Great Nicobar Island is around 910 square kilometres. Out of this, 853 square kilometres, that is 92 percent of the entire island, is constitutionally protected as Tribal Reserve under the 1956 regulation. The project footprint is 166 square kilometres. That is roughly 18 percent of the island, and the tribal reserve remains overwhelmingly intact. The tribal population Rahul Gandhi is suddenly weeping for is approximately 1,200. The Shompen, around 200. The Nicobarese, around 1,000. Eight hundred square kilometres of pristine, protected forest stays exclusively reserved for them. Untouched. Guaranteed by law. And here comes the inconvenient truth that destroys his entire video. The Tribal Council itself has issued a No Objection Certificate to the Government of India. The very communities Rahul Gandhi claims to speak for have already given written consent. The Gram Sabhas have passed resolutions. Yet this man parachutes in from Delhi, ignores the actual voice of the actual tribals on the actual ground, and decides HE will speak for them in English on Twitter for his foreign audience. Why English, Rahul ji? Why is the video tailored for international consumption? Why does every Congress attack on a strategic Indian project get amplified by the exact same Western NGOs and Survival International style outfits that have a track record of stopping infrastructure in developing countries while remaining suspiciously silent about Chinese ports in Hambantota and Gwadar? The pattern is too consistent to be coincidence. When India built Sela Tunnel, he was missing. When China built villages inside Arunachal, he was silent. When Galwan happened, he hugged the Chinese narrative. When Adani built ports for India, he attacked. When Chinese ports encircle India, he says nothing. Great Nicobar is not just an island. It is India’s southernmost frontier, 145 kilometres from Indonesia, sitting on the jugular of world trade. A transhipment port here means crores of dollars stay in India instead of going to Colombo. An airport here means our Navy and Air Force project power into the Indo Pacific. A township here means India finally populates and secures a territory that was nearly lost in 2004. This is exactly why someone, somewhere, wants this project killed. And Rahul Gandhi has volunteered, as always, to be the loudest voice for that someone. 1,200 tribals have said yes. 140 crore Indians want this project. The Supreme Court appointed committee has cleared it. The NGT has cleared it. The Environment Ministry has cleared it. Only one man stands in the way, video camera in hand, lecturing the nation from a forest he visited for the first time in his life. Bharat knows this script by heart now. And Bharat is not buying it anymore.

India is not just blending ethanol with petrol, it is blending away water and food security. Data is alarming: 1 litre rice-based ethanol = ~10,790 litres of water Rice needed for 1 litre ethanol = 2.5–3 kg FCI rice diverted for ethanol in 2024–25 = 52 lakh tonnes This can produce nearly 245 crore litres of ethanol. Now the next shocker: Centre is reportedly planning to cut broken rice in PDS from 25% to 10% to free up rice for ethanol feedstock. So rice meant for the poor is being reduced, while rice for fuel is being increased. Green fuel cannot be built by draining India’s groundwater and shrinking the poor man’s plate. ————————-//////———————- 10,000 litres water for one litre of ethanol: India fuel push to worsen water crisis - India Today indiatoday.in/science/story/…

Why Did Sridhar Vembu Really Come to India? The story you've been sold: A billionaire tech entrepreneur renounces Silicon Valley, returns to a Tamil Nadu village, lives simply, cycles to work, talks about dharma and reversing brain drain. Simple living, high thinking. A saint in a cotton shirt. The story the California courts tell: He moved to India in late 2019. Filed for divorce in 2021. In between, he transferred ownership of Zoho's US subsidiary to entities controlled by his associate Tony Thomas and his sister Radha Vembu, who now holds an estimated 47.8% stake in the company, without his wife's knowledge or consent. A California court didn't mince words. It found that Vembu had acted "without regard for respondent's interests in community assets and without regard for the law." It ordered him to post a $1.7 billion bond. Unprecedented, the court itself said. His wife Pramila Srinivasan, who by her own account supported the household in Zoho's early years and was kept in the dark about the ownership restructuring, is still fighting the case in California. Their son, who has autism and requires lifelong care, lives with her in the Bay Area. He is 26 years old. Vembu left him behind. The move to rural India wasn't a philosophical act. It was a jurisdictional one. California's community property law requires marital assets to be split equally in a divorce. The solution, apparently, was to move the assets and himself out of California's reach before the divorce became formal. The village was the alibi. The dharma was the disguise. This is the conclusion the evidence points to. The trial is not yet concluded and Vembu has denied all allegations, calling them complete fiction. But the court, looking at the same evidence, found his explanations not credible. And then came the reward. The Modi government gave him the Padma Shri on January 26, 2021 and appointed him to the National Security Advisory Board just days later, in February 2021. The formal divorce filing came in August that year. The government honoured him while the marriage was already in ruins and the asset transfers were already underway. But the courts and the Padma Shri are almost secondary. The real villainy is what he did to millions of ordinary Indians who believed him. The man built an entire public persona on selflessness, on the idea that he had walked away from wealth and comfort for the sake of rural youth, for India, for something larger than himself. People quoted him. Teachers cited him. Young men from small towns looked up to him. It was a performance. Underneath the saint was a man who had abandoned his wife of nearly three decades, walked away from a son who needed him, moved a billion dollar empire out of legal reach, and dressed the whole operation up as enlightenment. That is the real story of why Sridhar Vembu came to India.
