@Canaan1984 Lover’s first year wasn’t as strong as rep but every other year she held stronger onto bb than rep. In 2019 lover had 3/3 top 10 singles meanwhile rep had 2/4 top 10.

@sooyaver How is it outperforming its first year when “Reputation” spent more weeks in top 30 its 1st year? Album didn’t get a tour due to pandemic, so the Eras tour did help it became the monster hit it is today. It went from less than 5 billion streams before tour to now over 14 billion.

@Canaan1984 Reputation was by no means a streaming album as it was strictly pure sales upon release. This article written way before the eras tour highlights how Lover was outperforming rep in the longevity battle. Taylor Swift simply doesn’t flop

@sooyaver “Reputation” also a streaming album, it spent 44 weeks its 1st year in the top 30, while “Lover” spent 35 its 1st year. Also, every few years billboard keeps giving streaming more weight on their charts, so newer albums will tend to do better because they are getting more streams
