@SlayerRules_420 @soph_welsh @AFLcomau AFL rules are that once a player has a total of 16 weeks of suspensions they are then no longer eligible to be registered to play at any level in any competition in Australia. With his current total this player is at risk of being kicked out of the game. Too harsh an outcome.

Lance Collard sanction hearing: The AFL is asking for a 10-week suspension, to be served in addition to Collard's current two-week suspension for a high hit on Jackson Voss in the VFL @AFLcomau

@ThreetothePower @SlayerRules_420 @AFLcomau this is per s3.2.2(1)(ii) of the rules of the game. this wasn't raised in the tribunal hearings, so these provisions haven't been applied to the facts of the Collard case. this is just my reading of the publicly available docs!!!

@ThreetothePower @SlayerRules_420 @AFLcomau I looked into this yesterday - pretty sure automatic de-registration after 16 games only counts suspensions for in-game reportable offences (listed in s22.2.2 of the laws of australian football) and not suspensions for breaches of other codes of conduct/regs

@AFLcomau St Kilda is seeking a fine, with no additional suspension, or if a suspension must be delivered it should be four weeks with two weeks suspended given Collard's existing suspension for the high hit

The Tribunal has found Lance Collard used homophobic language during a VFL match on March 27, thereby constituting conduct unbecoming. A hearing to determine a sanction will be held TBD @AFLcomau

@AFLcomau As far as the media is aware, the actual hearing hasn't resumed (as in the forum where the AFL and StK present arguments and make submissions to the Tribunal panel). Based on what the Tribunal Chair said yesterday, I would imagine the Tribunal is still deliberating

@AFLcomau No update on the Lance Collard hearing so far today.

The AFL Disciplinary Tribunal has a 5pm deadline for the Lance Collard matter - it's 4.25pm and closing submissions haven't finished, let alone deliberation. The Chair has deferred submissions on sanctions. It's looking increasingly likely we'll be back at a later date @AFLcomau
