My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015)

There are two things which my entire sanity seems to hinge upon: Lifting weights and having my nails done. I do not understand why these two activities have become load bearing for the entirety of my psyche, but looking back, everytime in the last 5 years I've descended into a long cthonic gloom of misery and aimless suffering, I can trace the origin of these feelings towards either dropping the ball on the gym, or neglecting my manicure. I wish my fragile sense of self respect and autonomy was not dependent on a glute pump and cherry red nails, but it is what it is. Sometimes we have to cling to the smallest things to keep from tumbling into the darkness of the Nothing that surrounds us.
