I posted this article about my student's grant cancellation this morning. A few minutes ago, I learned that another very talented student in my lab had their funding cancelled too. I'm heartbroken -- not just for my students, but for the future of science. darbysaxbe.substack.com/p/my-students-…

Sadly, we still default to granting more respect to men than women. 8 studies: we're >2x as likely to call male politicians, athletes, teachers, and authors by their last names. It matters: surnames signal higher status. It's long past time to use consistent standards.

My late uncle was a veteran who received his Masters in Addictions Counseling from CSU following his retirement from the Air Force. More importantly, though, he was an incredible uncle and friend. Please consider donating to this memorial scholarship in his honor: 1/2

The sense of relief this email from @NIH_LRP gave me is indescribable! Growing up low income and being first gen to go to college, this award is literally life changing. To celebrate, I started a 529 college savings fund for my daughter. Here’s to a student debt free future 🎉

Another paper from the lab out this week. We used @FFCWS data to show that early childhood adversity that is defined by threat, not deprivation, was predictive of epigenetic age acceleration across early adolescence. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
