I am back again with my hot takes for @invinmusic Onchain Curator Szn 1. I took some time to marinate on this next piece so I hope you all enjoy it! Over the past week, I've been contemplating a pivotal question: "Is It Time to Be Critical of Onchain Music?" I've mainly leaned towards positive reviews, aiming to share the best music with you for a few reasons. My mission is to curate and share good music with all of you. I'm on the lookout for music that's truly worth your time. I also believe in being considerate of artists' feelings. Every musician is putting their best effort and deserves respect. Recently, @musicurator_ dropped a "critical" review which made my current discussion all the more relevant. First, let's address the elephant in the room: the phenomenon of supporting mediocrity in onchain music. Popularity and influence also play a huge role in this.... but I have said it before and I will say it again, it's time to prioritize quality! And if a piece falls short, guide listeners to better options. Onchain music also isn't just about speculative investments; it's about creating equity for musicians. This is the social cause that keeps me in onchain music, but it is hard to see money flowing into music that is sub par. So, I do believe we all could take a more critical stance, at least in where we are spending our money. Let's spend our music funds thoughtfully. In light of this, I chose to do a solo spotlight on a new talent in the onchain music scene. Meet @Simplystics and his genesis onchain track "WASTED." I am back again with my final post of September for @invinmusic's Onchain Curator Season 1. The past week of onchain music, has been incredible! Some may even be my favorite finds! It's been an exhilarating journey through the world of onchain music this past month, and there's much more to come! A highlight for me this week was onboarding two more remarkable artists to the onchain music scene! I have been onboarding and encouraging these artists to release music as quickly as possible rather than deep dive into everything "onchain music" entails. I have chosen to do this for a number of reasons, but mostly because I wholeheartedly believe in bringing quality music, onchain. It is now up to these artists to dive in an discover why we are all here! As passionate members of the onchain music space, we all know and value the sense of unity and connection within the community. Yet, we also recognize that music quality is paramount alongside. I believe (as I have expressed before in my writing) that elevating quality is a crucial first step toward mass appeal and the sustained growth of our beloved onchain music community. The hope is for these new artists to bring their unique talents onchain and in time embrace the profound sense of community that makes onchain music exceptional. Additionally, I have given these artists access to the @soultribesols Onchain Music Guide. This comprehensive guide, created in collaboration with @tarotsings over the past year, will soon be available to all 🤫 (alpha). It aims to lower the barrier of entry to onchain music, by covering everything from wallet setup to community building and effective music marketing. Keep your eyes out for our announcement coming 🔜 Reflecting on the past month, I have immense gratitude for the opportunity to share this musical journey. Thank you all for following along!
