I'd never heard someone use a voiced aspirated consonant in real life until I was in Prague for the phonetics conference #icphs2023. Rather than at the conference, it was actually at the hotel reception! The receptionist taught me "thank you" in Hindi: धन्यवाद [d̪ʱənjəʋɑːd̪].
