All I gotta say is the Chiefs better get an edge in the building who can get 10+ sacks next year or these two 1st round picks won’t make us any better on defense next season

@josh_tynes @cdotharrison They’re still gonna try, at least at first, which means we’re gonna need a dude with 5 career college sacks to actually sack the QB, which isn’t his strong suit. Not sure this is the answer we need unless we get a good edge in a trade

Chiefs worst 2 positions last year that are still a draft need: Edge & WR Chiefs have 2 first round picks Chiefs picks in the first round: CB & DT We aren’t solving our problems in the draft I’m sure these dudes are good, but are we making our team better?

@ShowMeFB Especially when they’ve show the ability to get more out of marginal CBs than their ability to coach up edge or WR.

I'm fed up with the Andy and Veach regime. Trading away all those assets just to get a CB when CB wasn't a weakness last year, so by default this pick doesn't make you better. Bain or a top WR drastically improves what this team was bad at last year. Just no rationale.

I hope the Chiefs trade back and get one of the picks back from the Delane deal. I like the player by the way, I just have questions about the process and if there was a need to trade up to get him

@Grizzlies2k13 Never had the chance to get one this high. Also, personally, I think we should’ve traded back considering how thin this draft is at the top. We need picks this year and next year. Reaching for a position that we’ve show the ability to consistently coach up seems silly to me

Let me be clear, I like Delane as a player. He’ll probably be a stud. But the trade to take a position we’ve show the ability to coach up when we need a more premium position (edge) that we’ve shown we can’t develop and giving up 3 picks to do it is what I’ve got a problem with

@LanceTHESPOKEN If they can’t rush the passer it won’t matter how good the DB room is. We saw that last season. Can’t cover everyone forever

Even if he’s elite, what difference does that really make in the grand scheme of things? The DB room has been built up by the amazing coaching this team has had. Sneed was the best CB on this team in 2023, a former 4th round pick. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have a bottom tier pass rush.

Delane is a dream scheme fit for Spags. He can play zone and man, but he's a phenomenal, physical corner at the line. Makes all the sense in the world for KC

@Grizzlies2k13 Dude I don’t care how good he is. A great pass rush can make average corners look elite. Great corners can’t make our garbage pass rush elite. And giving up 3 picks to move up 3 spots for a dude who probably would’ve been there when we need bodies is a stupid move

Gotta say I don’t like this. Seems like a major reach and likely could’ve got him at 9. We need more picks this year and just gave away a 3rd and 5th. Not a fan at all

It's about 7 blocks from the middle of the "neigh-brewhood" to CC Square. And most of that is a nice walk down Grand. Or people can hop the streetcar at 19th & Main and take it 1 or 2 stops. I just don't see this being so far away from any of that. It's a shorter walk than most make today at Kauffman Stadium.

This is very perceptive and unfortunately I disagree with the second point—Crown Center is something of an island and the site they’ve chosen is too far from the crossroads to integrate well
