Have you ever heard about the day the soldiers refused to fight. On Xmas Day 1914, German soldiers emerged from their trenches, waving their arms to demonstrate that they were not joining battle. The British soldiers on the other side soon joined them, meeting in No Man’s Land.

This may come as a surprise to some, but India was granted Dominion status on this day in 1947. It was not fully independent. Dominion meant that India was independent within the commonwealth. But the British King was still the head.

1/ A decade ago, one of my best friends took over his family's electrical business and worked 6 days a week to grow the company. He recently achieved a generational wealth level exit. He told me a story once that helped me understand how his family achieved such success.

Aisa bhi hota hai! My dad and I had been to Sketchers to buy shoes. There we meet a young man, who came to us and said, "Mala olakhla ka?" (Did you recognize me) My dad could not recognise him. What he said next was shocking!

A hypothetical book that I would pay reasonably more than any thing else, should be about the decision making process under Uncertainty during the #COVID19. What did we learn, what we could have done better, and lessons it offers for future decisions under the same conditions

You'd think the highest-paid sw engineers spend most of their time writing code. If you observed them, you'll find they read a lot of code and documents, talk with lots of people, and think a lot. Then they do what helps the business the most. And it's often not writing code.

@GergelyOrosz I had the good fortune to interact with @ErinMeyerINSEAD and talk about ideas from the book, and she had so many stories to tell about being culture and language aware that I wish the book had a sequel - culture map for #remoteworking

Many things make SO much more sense now. From why it feels easier to work people/teams from certain countries all the way to why it felt so difficult to get on the same page with those from other cultures. The Culture Map is required reading in a distributed world.
