Have you ever heard about the day the soldiers refused to fight. On Xmas Day 1914, German soldiers emerged from their trenches, waving their arms to demonstrate that they were not joining battle. The British soldiers on the other side soon joined them, meeting in No Man’s Land.

This may come as a surprise to some, but India was granted Dominion status on this day in 1947. It was not fully independent. Dominion meant that India was independent within the commonwealth. But the British King was still the head.

Many things make SO much more sense now. From why it feels easier to work people/teams from certain countries all the way to why it felt so difficult to get on the same page with those from other cultures. The Culture Map is required reading in a distributed world.
