@Adriana19Flower @camelsoup77 I think the implication is that no, most men don't. Just the few that matter.
English

@camelsoup77 Most men have lines of women waiting to sleep with them?
English

The cold hard truth is that the original version (the woman having a long line of men behind her) is far more common than this.
Images aren’t what cause the psychological damage to men. It simply exposes and reflects what they live with women in this whore society.
Melian Refugee@escapefrommelos
the infamous original version of this image did such intense psychological damage to young men
English

@katherineortho Yes & it goes the other way too (though obviously of a different form)
English

@berrysweetmum Yeah this feels like a recipe for daddy issues and low standards tbh
English

@pythonrocksnake @theemmacasey @ladyloodeeloo I feel like books, by are large, are the worst solution here. You'll either get fairytale ideas or very cynical ones, not much nuance in most cases.
English

@theemmacasey @ladyloodeeloo Coupled with smaller family sizes meaning lots of guys don’t grow up with sisters, either, I suspect this is a large part of the failure to connect and complete inability to model female motivation.
Also they don’t read books, and certainly not books about women.
English

I feel like men who have never been around very many women, let alone wives and mothers, have some very off ideas about what attitudes we hold, etc, yet are very certain that they are correct in their judgements.
What are they even basing this on? Podcasts? One women they met? Urban legends?
English

@sttheodoralover @Dimi2X It's very rarely financial among the younger generation, which I believe is why it's seen as such a problem - autists could always, in the past, score some high-end technical role that ensured comfort & security. Doesn't really matter anymore so they're (a bit understandably) mad
English

@criticalreya It comes off as creepy but is reproductively true. Obviously very few 16-18 year olds in the contemporary society are ready mentally or in any other capacity for parenthood, though. Arguably very few 19-30 year olds either tbh
English

I feel a little bit disgusted right now. How dare you say 16-17 year old woman are in their prime when they are not even legal adults yet. They have not even finished developing. Feels worse knowing some of these guys are adults saying this.

Katherine ☦︎@katherineortho
English

@HakureiRyan @Dancr200 Younger gen hypergamy isn't really concerned with that tbh, otherwise the autists would be doing alright in the dating world still
English

@Dancr200 Yeah man she might marry a guy that doesn't make six figures the horror!
English

@katherineortho Ultimately the internet is a poor platform for serious discourse. I think the best "response" to this article would be an impartial companion piece from a male POV, & some sort of cross-analysis to portray the disconnect (even if it's a bit intuitive tbh).
English

Some super interesting and helpful comments and contributions to the discussion.
I wish more people would have good faith dialogue like this rather than what we’ve seen here today.
I think it might be good to offer an X Space for men and women come and offer their sides. Or a podcast panel with a few people.

English

@CreatureTheJoke @katherineortho Is it a worse outcome than not getting married ?
English

This is difficult to talk about today because our culture sucks & our language sucks, & men and women aren’t good at understanding each other’s differences.
Simply put though, for most women, a man cannot make up for a lack of strength & attraction by simply being “nice”.
Wisdom@Wisdom_HQ
Who would she choose?
English

@This_Guhy @katherineortho I didn't have this problem but I've heard of stable early-20something dudes complaining that all the women their age have been taken by older dudes. Definitely seems like less of an issue than it used to be tho, I almost never see it among Gen Z
English

For the record, the women I know who have recently gotten married or recently engaged are not with “Orthodox Chads”
This myth needs to stop.
If you think being a normal human being who can take care of himself (we’re not talking about jacked and 6 pack) and have normal conversation with people is “Chad”… we really are so far gone as a culture.
On average, Christian women don’t mind a man with a little bit of a dad bod even. They care if he’s nice to her and can take care of her.
Katherine ☦︎@katherineortho
I surveyed 44 women and compiled some of my observations as a single woman in the Orthodox Church in America. I hope people find it edifying and enlightening. God bless!
English

@egreghost There are groups where everyone is successful and groups where nobody is successful with almost zero overlap. Sometimes there's maybe one or two guys with a foot in both camps, but that's it. I assume this is not a new phenomenon
English

@FrenlyOfficer @Sam98103202 Only to an extent - & the money itself is not attractive. It's, in this specific case, a prerequisite. And even then it's not exactly demanding 6 figs from what I've seen.
It's more like "has a job" then "is tall/handsome/dark/confident" etc., which is better than vice versa tbf
English

@sovldatski @Sam98103202 Religious women absolutely care about money. They want you to be able to live independently so you can support them and your kids.
English

Being a faithful Christian is insufficient to get you a wife. The fact that a man attends church regularly and has identical religious to a woman has almost no bearing on whether she will want to marry him.
If you are a religious guy who is struggling, you need to become attractive and desirable as a spouse in the same ways that make people attractive in the secular world.
Philipp@PhilippOfHesse
You’ll be shocked to learn that the preferences and dealbreakers of young orthodox women are identical to those of secular women
English

@Sam98103202 @FrenlyOfficer who make a ton of cash.
The funny/kind thing similarly led to the "Nice guy" backlash, which was cringe but didn't come from nowhere.
Ultimately everything boomers ever told men completely poisoned what was probably already a drying-up well. They really can be blamed for a lot.
English

@Sam98103202 @FrenlyOfficer Zoomer men were told this since birth and some of the less-socially-cued-in ones don't realize it until it's too late, i.e. 25+. Gen Z women especially don't care about money, which boomers harped about being the key to a wife. So you've got a lot of weird single programmers/docs
English

@Sam98103202 @FrenlyOfficer It's just another one of those life-ruining boomerisms that'll die off in the next few decades. A lot of young men were told either Disney romance fantasies or, at most pessimistic, that women only care about money (which is ironically also completely wrong).
English

@FrenlyOfficer I hate that this is shocking to men. It shows how deep the level of entitlement is with men or your ilk.
You want a woman who is beautiful/pleasing to look at *and* godly, yet you seem baffled that these women also want to be attracted to their husbands too.
English
