This is what real Presidential power looks like and nobody in the mainstream media will give it the credit it deserves. Eight women were hours away from execution tonight and they are alive right now because of one man's direct intervention. No lengthy UN resolution, no committee meeting, no strongly worded letter that gets ignored — just the weight and authority of a President that the world actually takes seriously. People can argue politics all day long but tonight eight families are not burying their daughters and that is because of President Donald J. Trump. This is the difference between a leader and a politician. A politician talks about human rights. A leader actually saves lives. God bless these women and God bless this President.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that he thinks the Iranians are going to expand the war, adding that it will be “a much more decisive war than last time” and “a much more destructive” one. Hannity: Sources telling me that the Ceasefire Extension in Iran announced by the president. That will be short-lived unless a deal is reached quickly. President announced that American strikes will not yet resume, and he will allow peace negotiations to continue. According to my sources, this was mostly out of respect for the Pakistani mediators and as a final push for peace for the war-torn Iranian people. The President is also giving more time to Iran's regime to attempt to coordinate and actually communicate with each other

One of the most powerful tools in the global propaganda architecture is the concept of "the international community." The international community is concerned. The international community condemns. The international community calls for restraint. Who is this community? In practice: the United States, Western Europe, and whichever governments are sufficiently dependent on Western financial institutions that they vote accordingly in international bodies. China is not the international community. Russia is not the international community. The Global South, representing the majority of the world's population, is not the international community when its positions conflict with Washington's. The international community is a rhetorical construction that presents a partial coalition of wealthy states as the voice of humanity. And this construction is accepted, reproduced, repeated, used without irony, by journalists and analysts across Asia, Africa, and Latin America who have absorbed the Western news framework so completely that they cannot see the construction. They type "international community" and mean it. The invisible quotation marks around it are the measure of how deep the system goes.

This is a good move—it buys us time. It’s essential that we use it wisely. Acknowledge that under current conditions, there are no military solutions and a true settlement is unlikely. Follow the Reagan-in-’84 model: pull our forces out of the region, let our Gulf allies negotiate to reopen the SOH, and refocus on the issues at home and winning the next election, like Reagan did. This is the opposite of what Israel wants us to do. To prevent Israel from pulling us deeper into this war, we must impose real restraint by limiting military aid to Israel. The escalation game is a losing hand. Dump it and walk away.

Blockading Iranian ports is an act of war and thus a violation of the ceasefire. Striking a commercial vessel and taking its crew hostage is an even greater violation. Iran knows how to neutralize restrictions, how to defend its interests, and how to resist bullying.
