TW su*cide (not me) I realised why I was feeling a little bit down lately even though this is usually more of a grand time of year for me... Be careful who you mix business and friendship with. Please no advice on this post, just venting 🩷. A recap to this situation below is that basically my editor, a trusted internet friend, that I pre-paid many thousands of dollars to in 2022 always let me down and is probably now gone. He kept guilt tripping me into prepaying for his surgeries, his rent, escaping his dv, therapy, his dog, and he swore he would pay me back with video editing and graphic design. He never really did. He only messaged me that when he was having trouble with something. When the start of 2025 came and I had a total of 3 shorts made by him over three years, I requested for him not to speak to me unless it was about editing. He missed deadlines for everything I asked for - making videos about trending games, overlays for my birthday (post below) etc. I had already written it off as money I wouldn't get back, but I still wanted to try… He would have nothing to show while saying, "that's awful, how could you do that to a client", about that other artist that wasted my time since 2022 who delayed my VTuber career. (Feel free to search “Dax” for context) He then had the audacity to ask me for another year's worth of prepayment; for an additional year and then he would "speed up" the progress of the years he owed me. It felt like a slap in the face. He admitted he saw it as an idea for a business opportunity. That's not what friends do. When I explained and screen shotted how terrible of a person and friend he had been and shown his own words every time he made a promise, he said he can’t believe what he did and he was wrong and "swore to change". I put my foot down (although much too late) and told him that he has completely lost his privileges to talk to me unless he would respect me and provide work. He messaged me a few shorts throughout the first half of 2025, and then went back to providing nothing. He recently implied that he was going to kill himself and that he was sorry for everything. I haven't heard from him since. I barely have any video edited content available. There’s no highlights of my debuts, my birthdays, the time we raised thousands for charity, the laughs I shared with my friends. It’s something I deeply regret. I also sometimes find it hard to connect with my peers, wondering if they will end up using me, so I often don’t get close to my fellow VTubers - forgive me if you have noticed. Despite these, I have made it to 16k on X, 6k on Twitch, but I still have so many ideas for short and long form content. Sadly, I have this mental barrier because of this person when hiring editors. It feels awful to spend money on something I got essentially already scąmmed on. Sometimes it also hurts to open up a video editing program. I have never been able to share with you outside my first debut my lore, in hopes that one day he would do it. My lore revolves around a little tree sprout that was able to grow in an impossible situation. I got this illustration below in March 2023 by lovely roa_ilis of my original design as a nod to it. Like my OC, I hope I can overcome anything and everything. I'm going to try take back the years I am owed by myself. I have such a beautiful community and wonderful followers. I am lucky to have pages of happy birthdays and fan art and people that look forward to my content. Thank you for wanting to support me. Thank you for reading my vent. 🫂
