several people have told me that they find it hard to leave once they spend a good amount of years working here and that they keep coming back. it’s eye opening because nationals don’t always realize that this is the case for so many

expats from work would transfer from one place in the emirates to another place in the emirates it’s like they’re obsessed with staying here with occasional travels back to their home countries they act like this country is their one and only option 🤗 something to think about

I have to tell this story… one time a professor of one of the grad school courses I was taking wrote “I’m proud of you” as a feedback on an assignment I felt so uplifted by that alone that I started saying “I’m proud of you” to my own students. kind words make a huge difference
