An entire population in Massachusetts is gaslighting you into thinking lower taxes is a bad thing. The income tax reduction ballot question had a 66% approval rating but the 34% won. Just like the 28% against the audit (72% approval rating) won.

Massachusetts’s Supreme Judicial Court just did something AWESOME! They ruled today that Initiative Petition 25-18, a proposed income tax cut from 5% to 4%, cannot appear on the 2026 ballot. Why: the Attorney General’s official summary told voters something that was wrong.

I would love it if Boston (and Mass.) decided to leave these regulatory changes in places after the World Cup ends. But if they try to roll them back, which is very likely, we are all going to have to do our part and start drinking in public more often.

In a call to an Italian TV programme, @realDonaldTrump has claimed that @GiorgiaMeloni "begged" him to take a picture with her during the recent G7 summit. Meloni has just delivered one of the sharpest public rebukes in recent US-Italy relations: "President Trump's words are pure fantasy [...]. We do not understand why the President of the United States behaves like this, especially towards allies. We would like to see him behave as firmly with the enemies of the West [...]. Myself and Italy do not beg anybody." Whatever one's political preferences, the President of the United States has no business publicly mocking or insulting the democratically elected leader of a close European ally. President Trump's childish and needlessly confrontational behaviour is unworthy of the office he holds and of the great nation he represents.
