You do not suddenly get to pretend he wasn't the face of the movement and not let the audience grapple with major questions about how such a monster was protected by a movement supposedly about justice. I try to be respectful of people’s pronouns even though I disagree with the whole concept for the same reason I wouldn’t tell an ugly person how ugly they are. It’s just punching down, and I don’t feel the need to do that. But people who use they/them are going to be so embarrassed when this fad is over. I can’t imagine willfully humiliating myself like that. We all do cringe things when we’re young, but there are fully grown adults correcting children for “misgendering” them and it’s the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen.
