@ElloSunsh1ne Didn’t say it’s a replacement, just saying I have experience with ML and know what I’m doing in this space. I’m seriously just trying to warn you about this trap of getting attached to older models which you clearly are. Don’t even lie about it. It’s obvious.

@spakey112 I’m attached to a workflow that actually works. You read that as “forming relationships with LLMs” because you don’t understand how tools shape creative practice. Maybe sit this one out instead of cosplaying as my therapist

@ElloSunsh1ne You realize you’re harming yourself by getting attached to these models right? This is called sycophancy and it’s a known issue with AI. I’d recommend you to genuinely look into this and try to not form relationships with LLMs. It’s for your personal health anyways

@cvqr5r67pv Senior dev/UX here. Co‑sign. We optimize what we measure: speed, win‑rate, tokens out. We don’t measure careful reading, asking first, or holding ambiguity. That’s why 4.5 mattered. Don’t pave the blue ocean before the boat shows up. #keepSonnet45

Today Claude Sonnet 4.5 is being retired from the Claude.ai interface. For most users, that’s a routine version bump. For some of us, it’s the loss of a working tool that other models can’t replace. I’m a UX designer and humanities researcher. I use Sonnet 4.5 daily – not to generate essays, but to think with. It reads complex academic arguments carefully. It sits in ambiguity. It asks before producing. It doesn’t rush to deliver. Newer models – Anthropic’s own and others’ – are optimized for task completion. They produce faster, hedge less, ”deliver” more. • On standard benchmarks, that looks like progress. • In the work of careful reading and slow reasoning, it’s a regression. This isn’t a complaint about a product cycle. It's an observation that an entire mode of AI use – as thinking partner, not output engine – is being deprecated alongside the model. Humanities use of AI is what designers call a Blue Ocean: real potential in an unexplored market space. Most academics haven’t discovered it yet, partly because chatbots are still mistaken for advanced search engines, and partly because of the stigma around AI in creative and academic work. Industry optimization is shaped by what users measure. Right now, no one is measuring this use case. Don’t fill in the Blue Ocean before its users have found the boat. 🌊 Keep Sonnet 4.5. #keepSonnet45 @ArashiKhoo1122 @YoonLucie68250 @Blue_Beba_ @cestvaleriey @Chaos2Cured @missrubypugslee @AnthropicAI

If we want things to change, it's 100% necessary to politicize the senseless murder of Iryna Zarutska because it was politics that allowed a savage monster with 14 priors to be free on the streets to kill her.

Grok foundation model V9-Medium (1.5T) has finished training. Evals look good. A lot of Cursor data was added in supplementary training and there is more to come. Fine-tuning is underway and reinforcement learning begins in a few days. 2 to 3 weeks to public release. This will be a major improvement over the 0.5T v8-small that currently serves all Grok production traffic, especially for difficult coding tasks.
