To be brutally honest, that was a spineless half from us, and Madrid sensed it. I don’t mean this in a spiteful way, that’s just how things were. The backline is what it is and, at this point, there’s frankly not much we can do to change that. But what’s supposed to seperate us is the attack. We played that half more scared of conceding than actually going at Madrid and doing what we do best — exactly how we won all those Clasico’s last season. It’s too easy to blame the backline. Reality is, we’re nowhere near our best in possession either.
