A huge thank you to muralist, Judith Baca, for accurately portraying the story of our community & @sparcinla who worked with us to secure these funds.
The project begins in 2024 and is anticipated to be completed in 2028, in time for the Olympics in Los Angeles.

Domestic violence did not stop during the pandemic, violence against women increased, hate and racism were fueled.
But SPARC did not stop either, we took into people’s homes, virtual art exhibitions and global art movements against gender and race-based violence #socialjustice

Emily Winters’ 1990 Venice Boardwalk mural ‘Endangered Species’ was restored to its full splendor by SPARC's Mural Rescue Team with support from The Venice Arts Council Endangered Art Fund, the W.S. Scharff Foundation, and local Park Place residents.

On this rare occasion when the water runs again through the Tujunga wash, our construction team is working on phase 1 of the restoration of interpretative stations and we are reminded that the Great Wall of LA is a tattoo on the scar where the river once ran.
