It’s easy. It’s processed vs unprocessed. If you buy meat from the butchers, get real cheese, if you make homemade bread and you know every ingredient in what you’re making, it’s healthy. If you go to a fast food place where it’s full of oils, fats, additives, sugar/salt and the meat and cheese are extremely overprocessed, it’s unhealthy

@blockbusterOG @upshine3 It’s an ADHD thing too. Meltdowns/shutdowns/burnouts aren’t just an autistic thing. There are ADHD burnouts too

@upshine3 This could be more of an autism thing. The stimulation is so overwhelming they will shut down and disappear.

Help. I’m in a relationship with someone who has ADHD and I’m honestly so confused. He disappears when things get overwhelming, like just stops replying for days. Then comes back saying he “shut down.” Is this actually an ADHD thing or am I being ignored?

It’s not an excuse, for some people it’s a reason. Not everyone with ADHD is the same. My brother has ADD and will shut down from everything and everyone. I have ADHD and I’ll communicate even when I’m exhausted or stressed. Everyone has different needs, the post did say he communicated that he shut down, so he obviously apologised for lack of communication in the meantime.

@upshine3 idk.. he should not be using his adhd as an excuse for the lack of communication

@upshine3 He’s in burnout. It is an ADHD thing. It’s not to say everyone with ADHD reacts the same though, some power through and some people’s burnouts may not last as long or affect them in the same way, but it definitely does happen. His brain is literally shutting down
