@Haute_Cadence @katiecboulter The umpire in one match stopped the game to make sure the advertising wedge was placed upright after being knocked down …can’t upset the sponsors can we!

I don’t get it… There’s absolutely no reason for Charity to not tell Vanessa the truth about Todd - Vanessa’s aware that Layla isn’t Jacob’s baby. Baffling! #Emmerdale

So, Olivia’s criminal dad is likely the guy who hired Graham to ‘retrieve’ Jody after she’d stolen an incriminating hard drive & how she ended up bound and gagged in the back of Graham’s van…we’re slowly getting there! #Corrie #Emmerdale

@ArturNadol7566 I knew Mr Pink in the 1970’s, as a secondary school teacher, prior to him entering the NHS. Always held him in high regard & can vouch for his very high, moral character. Followed his battle with the NHS with interest, knowing he would always act in the patients best interests.

NHS FIRED A NURSE FOR TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT DYING PATIENTS Graham Pink was a 57-year-old night charge nurse at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. He looked after 23 severely ill elderly patients at a time. On his ward, there was one qualified nurse and two healthcare assistants. That was it. He said the patients he cared for had survived the Second World War. They deserved better than this. So he did what you're supposed to do. He wrote letters. To his managers. To the hospital. To his MP. He asked for three more nurses per night. Three. The request was refused because, and this is real, it would set a precedent for other hospitals. God forbid. When his letters ended up on the front page of The Guardian in 1990, Stockport Health Authority (@StockportNHS) sacked him for breaching patient confidentiality. The patients whose neglect he was exposing, apparently, had their confidentiality to think about. The Health Minister at the time was asked in Parliament whether he'd congratulate Pink for his courage. He said no. He said Pink's allegations weren't supported by colleagues or clinicians. Classic. Pink fought a five-year tribunal battle. He won in 1993. The Health Authority pulled out before it could get worse for them, claiming the legal costs were too high. They awarded him £11,188. The maximum allowed. Then didn't reinstate him. His nursing career was finished. His lawyer called it a triumph for those whose priority is care for patients over those whose first care is for balance sheets. Pink went on to campaign for proper whistleblower protection. His case was cited in Parliament when the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 was being drafted. The law that was supposed to stop this happening again. The law that still gets ignored on a regular basis. He wrote a book about it in 2013. He died in 2021, aged 91, cared for by nurses who told his family it was an honour to look after him. The system that punished him is still running. Source: The Guardian, Wikipedia, Nursing Standard,

Royal Navy’s Epic Voyage: HMS Dragon Still Looking for the Map LONDON – In what may go down as one of the most heroic stationary missions in modern naval history, the HMS Dragon has successfully defended the British coastline by remaining firmly in port. According to reports, the advanced British destroyer was supposed to sail from Portsmouth to the eastern Mediterranean near Cyprus this week. The plan sounded impressive on paper. In reality, however, the ship is still busy doing something revolutionary for a warship preparing for deployment: loading ammunition. Officials now say the vessel will not leave Portsmouth until next week. Once it finally sets sail, the technologically sophisticated destroyer will require another five to seven days to reach the waters near Cyprus. Until then, the British military base at RAF Akrotiri and everyone on the island can apparently enjoy the thrilling suspense of waiting for help that is currently somewhere between “being packed” and “thinking about leaving.” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been accused by critics of hesitation and delays. Gulf states and Cypriot officials are reportedly less than thrilled that the Royal Navy’s response to potential drone threats resembles a logistics seminar rather than a rapid military deployment. Meanwhile, the Royal Navy insists that everything is proceeding according to plan. After all, modern naval strategy clearly emphasizes careful preparation. Why rush into the Mediterranean when one can spend an extra week making absolutely sure the ammunition is placed neatly and the paperwork is filed correctly? For now, the most dangerous waters facing HMS Dragon remain those of Portsmouth Harbor, where the ship continues its brave struggle against crates, loading schedules, and the relentless passage of time. ⚓️😌
