2600 menstrual hygiene kits have been shipped to Ethiopia. Each kit lasts 3 years & contains panties, soap, a washcloth & reusable pads. Education is also included, to teach girls how to use the kits & to shatter the shame & stigma that is linked to menstruation.

@E4Change_Kelafo We worked so hard to secure this grant and get this program up and running, including hiring a lot of new staff. This move by Trump is devastating for the girls we serve and has caused a lot of a distress for our staff who rely on their salaries. It’s so upsetting.

We secured funding from USAID to supply girls in Ethiopia with menstrual hygiene kits. We've issued 1500 kits already & had plans for more. However, Trump has now put an immediate stop to all foreign aid so the life-changing program has now been suspended. shorturl.at/rhKxT

Another shout out to @carla_alblas and her Grade 7 class at Providence Christian School for organising a Walk 4 Change. Despite the rain, they walked 10 kms on May 3rd and raised over $7000! These funds will be used to build bathrooms at local schools in Kelafo, Ethiopia. 👏

E4Change is building another bathroom! Hilabad Primary School has no functioning bathroom so we're building a double unit with one stall for boys & one for girls. This bathroom has handwashing stations & the community is taking responsibility for filling the water tank every day.
