Of all of the “dangers of AI” papers, this is most worrying: AI researchers building a tool to find new drugs to save lives realized it could do the opposite, generating new chemical warfare agents. Within 6 hours it invented deadly VX… and worse things nature.com/articles/s4225…

Glad to inaugurate the Centre for Brain Research at @iiscbangalore. The joy is greater because I also had the honour of laying the foundation stone for this project. This Centre will be at the forefront of research on how to manage brain related disorders.

For a density p(x,θ) parameterized by θ, the (Fisher) score function is the gradient the log-likelihood w.r.t θ:

Interestingly 𝔼ₓ[ s(x,θ) ] = 0
Intuition: at a given θ, changing the parameter a little doesn’t on average change the likelihood!

I don't like the expression "working hard". First, it's not "working" in itself that matters, it's achieving outcomes. And second, work should not be hard. You should find work patterns that enable high-volume productivity without incurring a high psychological or physical cost.
