Today, we pause to remember the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This solemn anniversary serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made to protect our nation and the enduring strength and resilience of the American people.

It’s sad to see Gov. Evers veto a variety of bills, specifically ones aimed at patching unemployment loopholes. Now, people will continue to cheat unemployment and take away resources from those that actually need it, costing taxpayers more. These vetoes are disappointing.

Democrats ignoring statistics regarding public safety and crime put our people at serious risk. Assembly Republicans here in Wisconsin have prioritized supporting our police and first responders to prevent our state from turning into a war zone like Chicago.

On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of honoring the life of Rep. Jim Rooney. Jim and I served on the Racine County Board together and I am grateful for his advice and friendship. No one cared more for their community than Jim Rooney and he will be missed.
