The Mis-Education of Africa: Why Africa’s Schools Ignore Resources, Power, and Global Systems The Spearhead’s Kangmwa Gofwen examines how Africa’s education system, far from being a tool of liberation, was structured to produce disconnection from history, power, and self-determination. It argues that colonial schooling did not simply sideline African knowledge and identity, but also deliberately failed to teach generations of Africans how global systems actually work, from international finance and resource extraction to shipping routes, geopolitics, and the institutions that shape the modern world. The result is an education that rewards memorisation over critical understanding and produces graduates who can speak the language of development without being equipped to challenge the systems that keep the continent dependent. This is a call to rethink what education in Africa should be for. It urges a shift away from inherited curricula that centre Europe and detach African students from their own realities, and toward an education rooted in African history, practical knowledge, and strategic understanding of global power.

G7 Summit: France Revokes South Africa's Invitation As The Declining Empire Denies Involvement France’s withdrawal of South Africa’s invitation to attend the G7 summit as a guest has added to the questions around Pretoria’s growing tensions with Washington. Although Ramaphosa’s spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, said the move came after U.S. pressure on France, Paris denied that claim, with Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot saying the decision was part of efforts to streamline the summit, even as Kenya was invited. This has shown a clear pattern of aggression on South Africa from the United States, from its hostility to Pretoria’s case against Israel at The Hague to the continued pushing of the baseless “white genocide” narrative.

Kanye’s UK ban Exposes Yet Another Western Double Standard Kanye West’s treatment has exposed the double standard in how outrage works. When harm is directed at Africans and Black people, the world often looks away. But when certain other groups like the Jewish establishment are involved, western institutions, sponsors, and governments move quickly. This is why Africans must pay close attention to whose pain is taken seriously, whose history is centred, and why our moral clarity cannot be borrowed from the West. We must learn to read these moments properly. The issue is not whether Kanye should be beyond criticism. It is the fact that the global response is never equal, and that imbalance tells you everything about whose lives, suffering, and dignity the world has been taught to value most.

Jos Massacre: Unmasking Foreign Influence in Nigeria On Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026, terrorists attacked the Gari Ya Waye community of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, killing at least 30 civilians that the Tinubu-led regime failed to protect. Following the attack, many Nigerians, who have long been victims of US-backed terrorism, have, out of frustration and neglect by Abuja, begun cosying up to foreign actors like “Alex Barbir”, who poses as a US missionary alongside his compliant local partner Ezekiel Dachomo. For the Spearhead, Mayowa Durosinmi (@mayordeah_) explained the lost context of how foreign agents like Alex Barbir are embedded deep within networks like Equipping The Persecuted, and are all working, in the name of protecting “persecuted Christians”, to achieve the ultimate goal of furthering US imperialism in Nigeria.

DR Congo Signs Deal To Receive US Deportees As Lawyers Take Action Against Similar Deal In Uganda Barely 3 months after handing its critical minerals on a plate to the United States government, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has become the latest African nation to sign a deal with the US to "temporarily" accept US deportees whose home countries have refused to. The DRC joins Rwanda, Uganda, Cameroon, Ghana and others in this strange arrangement, for which the US has claimed it will cover all expenses until alternative arrangements can be made. Whatever the truth of this claim, the imperialist motives behind this “deal” are clear. The US has spent decades waging economic warfare on the Global South, condemning millions of its people to poverty. In their desperation, many of these people have sought refuge in the US and other Western nations by whatever means available to them. But under the leadership of the most openly racist, imperialist and corrupt presidency in US history – emphasis on “openly” – the US has become especially hostile towards its immigrant population over the last 2 years. And now Africa, a continent which has seen the face of Anglo-American terror more than any other part of the Global South, now stands to become the US’s de facto dumping ground for its unwanted migrants, because of its spineless leaders. It is left to the people of Africa to respond appropriately to this insult.

ICYM: Ghana Offers Free Visa Entry for All African Passport Holders From May 25, 2026, all African nationals and passport holders will not be required to pay visa fees when visiting Ghana. This measure, according to the President John Mahama-led administration, is grounded in the spirit of Pan-Africanism and underscores Ghana's commitment to African unity. Ghana is also ready to launch an e-Visa platform for all applicants worldwide, fully anchored in appropriate security and technological frameworks to ensure the safety of both citizens and intended travellers. This new policy, anchored on the vision of Ghana's founding leader, Kwame Nkrumah, aligns with the borderless Africa dream, where Africans can travel freely across the continent, promoting intercontinental trade, tourism and unity.

If the US Empire Sees the Potential in a United States of Africa, Why Don’t Africans? 141 years ago, the Berlin Conference carved Africa into fragments, and the continent still operates within those colonial-era borders. Psychologically, this framework has instilled in Africans, including so-called African leaders, a sense of division, when in truth, the continent ought to function as one indivisible powerhouse on the global stage. Meanwhile, the current face of U.S. imperialism, President Donald Trump, has openly acknowledged Africa’s potential. But the empire he represents has no interest in such unity, as the continent continues to be viewed and engaged as a fertile ground for mineral resource extraction. The only viable path forward for Africa is maintaining a united, indivisible front, as demonstrated by Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. In doing so, Africa would no longer have to resist Western imperialism and neo-colonialism in ways that repeatedly result in the loss of Pan-African leaders.
