@ArchdeaconLuke @bythewardrobe We know that two of the most active @spectaclemakers, goldsmith Martha Gregorie (later Alt) and Robert Alt who petitioned in 1628 for the formation of our Company, were buried in St Anne’s churchyard, just round the corner from our current HQ. Please spare a prayer for them!

Today @bythewardrobe we keep the eve of the feast of S Anne. The church of S Anne Blackfriars was lost in the great Fire in 1666 and not rebuilt. Two churchyards remain, and we offer mass in one of them. We have a lovely image of S Anne in S Andrews Church.
