Article is basically a transcript of the TDK event. Good quote from Tim Simons, Snap Director of Engineering: “What Enovix is doing in innovating silicon anode technology has created a step-function change.”

@treesandquiet She’s the CBO and oversees commercial strategy, business development etc. New person who gets hired will be leading sales. Two different roles. It’s bullish because if $envx had minimal customer traction the CBO would have enough time to fulfill both roles.

@treesandquiet Yes, if $envx had no customer traction this job would be wholly unnecessary.

$envx This latest job ad has an About the Job bit at the end (set out below), although really it’s an About Us bit. I like the final sentence about “growing customer demand”. About the job Enovix (Nasdaq: ENVX) is an advanced silicon battery company on a mission to power the technologies of the future. From mobile devices and AI wearables to drones, defense systems, and industrial equipment, next-generation electronics require higher-performance batteries. Enovix’s disruptive silicon-anode architecture enables high energy density and capacity without compromising safety. The company is scaling global manufacturing and commercial operations to meet growing customer demand.

Good stuff. Thanks Lien. This event happened in October 2025. Since then we know that 10 glasses customers have been testing @EnovixBatteries. Those customers almost certainly include Meta, Google and Snap. It’s interesting that TDK invited $envx to this event. TDK is a competitor and seems to acknowledge that, at least for glasses, Enovix’s battery is superior and is the solution for safe, small, long lasting batteries. At around the 22-minute mark Tim from Snap waxes lyrical about Enovix whose work he has “been watching” and he describes as being “pretty impressive”. In light of the nice things that he said about Enovix, it’s hard to imagine them NOT submitting a PO.

$ENVX 😎The panel discussion organized by TDK Ventures (at their 100X event, focused on XR/AR/VR/spatial computing) provides evidence for some things we already knew. ▪️ An active ecosystem (Qualcomm / Google Android XR) Bringing together TDK, Meta, Google and Snap reps strongly indicate active collaboration in the XR/smart glasses supply chain. Moreover, almost everyone on the panel has worked at Qualcomm. 🗣️Samira (Enovix): "Working with all the partners in this ecosystem has been really helpful for us to really know what are the use cases and sort of what are the ultimate form factors." 🗣️Hugo (Google): "You can see the caliber of the panelists and the synergy between what we do in moving this industry forward." ▪️ XR is close to 'finally happening' After years of investment and delays, the panelists explicitly explained why adoption is going to happen soon. They attributed it to two primary reasons: hardware/technology maturity converging across key components, and the advent of generative AI (GenAI) and LLMs providing the perfect input/interaction method for always-on, head-worn devices. 🗣️Hugo (Google): "We see that technology is way more mature today... Processors, displays, wave guides, cameras, sensors, batteries are all coming together nicely from a timeline perspective." 🗣️Jim (TDK): "Everyone's been talking about this a long time. I was at Qualcomm with Hugo for a long time...and just always wondered when it was gonna happen, but I think it is coming now." 🗣️Hugo (Google): "My view is that we are, if not a at the inflection point, we're close to it, right? The advancements over the last decade were tremendous." ▪️ Enovix is a critical enabler in this market Enovix has a central enabling position by solving the power constraint that's repeatedly called out as crucial for smart glasses that can be used all day. Moreover, the placement of Samira in this panel underscores Enovix's recognized role in the supply chain. 🗣️Hugo (Google): "One of the key aspects that we need to address is of course the battery." 🗣️Samira: "Our view is that, generally battery is the invisible ceiling for all wearables... The truth is, even for the, with the latest generation of these smart glasses that are available today, they use a fairly small capacity battery, up to 250 mA power capacity batteries. And that's barely enough runtime for a few hours of use case, basic use case." 🗣️Jim (TDK): "The fundamental thing that we all just talked about starts with power. How much power you're gonna consume and how much power you can deliver. So as we were building these technologies, we always looked towards how do I drive down the power consumption and how do I increase the battery capacity." 🗣️Tim (Snap): "I think what Enovix has been doing and really integrating the silicon energy technology and enabling that has really created like a step function change there." youtube.com/watch?v=0mUgkj…

@_bj_bj_bj_ @WolfgangKlier It does a bit, but without the laser ofc. Same principle. I never got a perfect edge even when using the best German tilecutter!

@spenbaker @WolfgangKlier Sounds like tile cutting. Score the surface (w/ laser) to break the surface tension, then snap/break the part with the punch.
