Hello, My name is Mohammed Hussain. I have been a pharmacist for 25 years, working in the NHS for 23 of those years. I Have worked in Regulatory, Technology, Academic and front line practice roles. Last year I left the NHS to join Viatris to establish a new Healthcare Solutions Business Unit where we aim to develop Digital Therapeutics and service innovation offers for pharmacies, the NHS and private providers. I have always loved getting into the next big evolution for pharmacy at ground zero, so I can help shape it, drive it, and watch it grow. My greatest achievements have already been joining the Electronic Prescription Service team as the Clinical Lead in NHS England, when we had zero digital prescriptions, and taking that to 100s of millions of items per year. I then helped roll out the Summary Care Record, digital patient record, access to all community pharmacies nationwide. Today I am focussed on the next big leap of digital therapeutics, innovative digital technologies, that have the same clinical standard as a drug. These can be prescribed or bought just like a medicine. To roll this out we need to build the architecture, pathways, reimbursement models and educate patients and health care professionals. I work across a number of European countries but am based in the UK. I co-founded #Pharmacy24 in November 2014 as idea to answer this question: "How could we promote the difference pharmacy makes and encourage more people to get involved?" The answer was #pharmacy24. The last time we ran this international event, open to all to celebrate pharmacy we had over 21 million twitter impressions. Now the event is also on Linkedin and Instagram.
