@spevna @callistoroll Sure sure. But somehow all these anecdotes about how the Japanese just love these 3rd world restaurants come from names like Mustafa or woke Eurotrash. Apparently all the natives need you to speak up for them.

Indian restaurants across Japan are facing mass closures due to stricter immigration rules and visas. “If I need to provide 30 million yen in capital when renewing my visa, I won't be able to come up with the money. I may have no choice but to close."

@TradFidiGuy @callistoroll There are 5 in my town and they are all pretty popular. Japanese people really enjoy Nepalese curry.

@callistoroll Sounds like there are more Indian restaurants in Japan than demand from the native population can justify. Indians should be acclimating themselves to the local diet and why TF would a foreign tourist go to Japan to eat Indian food.

@CacheThatCheque I dunno how sustainable this model even is considering that no one’s level of English is improving and AI is replacing so much basic translation services which means even fewer Japanese will be compelled to learn. Wages will likely only get even worse at this rate.

Hundreds of guys like this in Japan. Don’t end up like this guy at age 40 with no job or work skills and hating everyday of your life. If you work as an ALT, make it a mission to get out and move on to something more within a few years.
