Here’s a thing- I participated in a tribute to Chuck @rockhall about 10 years after the Apollo incident. I was happy to do it- I played & sang Almost Grown. My unfortunate earlier experience with Mr. Berry didn’t change his importance for me one bit. I MD’d an NYC tribute too

It was their biggest hit & that impact on band dynamics went totally unaddressed. The Doors , as presented in Oliver Stone’s movie never felt like a band, AT ALL. They were props, for Jim’s “genius”, as HE conceived it. Kilmer’s performance as Jim rescued the film from itself

@vurnt22 I do beg to disagree with the assessment that Robby Krieger’s role in writing “Light My Fire” went unaddressed, as there is a scene where Krieger sheepishly hands the song to the band and explains his lyrics were trying to be like Jim’s (thematically)
