As a non-Zulu speaker, you are not safe in South Africa right now. Zulus are targeting foreigners first, once they’re done, non-Zulu speaking South Africans will be next. They view Zulu as superior to all other tribes. No one has given these individuals the right to stop and search other South Africans or demand identification. They have no legal authority to do so. Non-Zulu speakers and foreigners have every right to refuse their demands. Their role is limited to organising marches and protests- nothing more.
