Our latest paper from Lydia and @XeniaKSS is out in JACS Au! We wanted better reagents for selectively labelling protein N-termini, so looked at how functionalisation affected each step of the complex equilibrium, leading to faster and more stable probes! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Keep an eye out for the last couple from the group!😎🦾 Latest instalment: Phathu’s PhD work on enantioselective a-amination just out in @JOC_OL (pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…). Congrats to Phathu and the entire team!🎉🎉 For more from this guy, keep an eye out on the @spicerlab!

Our latest preprint is out - Lydia took a deep dive into the chemistry of pyridinecarboxaldehydes to try and find improved reagents for labelling protein N-termini. Spoiler: we think we found some design criteria that allow us to achieve just that! chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…

Hi! I am excited to share a new paper led by @RozansSam We all love peptides and put them in biomaterials, but don't often think about how stable they are during culture. Sam and co-workers synthesized a series of peptide libraries and incubated them with different cell types.

New preprint, where we use functionalised peptides as catalysts for proximity labelling of proteins - with the ability to screen libraries of peptides for protein binding, we think this could be a really versatile tool for site-selective modification. chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…

@professor_dave At 11 C it was at least 10 degrees below a temperature I would have considered that at!

Our group had a fantastic time showcasing hydrogel chemistry (beautiful alginate beads and 'fake snow'!) to the next generation of budding scientists at @YorkFestofIdeas last week, along with the team of @professor_dave and @YBRI_UoY. Great to interact with the York community

#ChemistryOfRunning Mission Complete with a a 2.48 today @LondonMarathon Thanks to my my family for their continued love and support as I do mad stuff like this. I'll be writing a full race report for @ChemistryWorld in May 😁 Now, all the food and beer please

Nice to be able to play a small role in supporting the work of good friends of the group in 2 papers this week. The first led by @theSeriousLab with @XeniaKSS just out in PLOS Biology on microfabrication platforms for cell culture journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar…

Our new paper has been a labour of love so delighted to see it out! We show that strain-promoted cycloadditions can take place in lipid membranes, providing a potentially valuable tool to study membrane proteins, lipid dynamics, and bilayer transport onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Congratulations to the group's second PhD student Laetitia on her graduation last week! The first one I've been able to attend at @ChemistryatYork so a very proud supervisor moment, and lovely to see some of our undergrad students back to celebrate as well
