BREAKING: Rachel Reeves says that Brexit did 'deep damage' to the UK's economy, equivalent to an 8 per cent hit to GDP She says it has led to higher costs for businesses, higher prices in shops and shrinking markets for exporters 'Brexit did deep damage. Recent independent studies indicate its GDP impact could be as much as 8 per cent. It has meant higher costs for businesses, and therefore higher costs in our shops. It has meant shrinking markets for UK exporters and our strategic industries exposed as protectionist barriers rise worldwide”

Bollox - Brexit had done good for us and if her government/Tories had implemented fully would have done even better! The EU manipulated the stats to make it appear a fail, when in fact it saved us the constant barrage of money going out of this country straight into the globalists’ pockets! The referendum was clear, WE said “NO” and even more would say it now! We stand to gain NOTHING from further alignment with corruption and LIEbour just pass the buck for making decisions!!!

BREAKING: “We are not burying our head in the sand. We are not immune to the damage that Brexit has caused… where alignment is in our national interest we should align with European rules where that is good for business and where that is good for jobs in Britain” Chancellor Rachel Reeves 👏

@CheekyCommons @PeterStefanovi2 That’s because 17 million, if that’s the correct figure, were wrong!! Besides you should not be changing something as big as that with 52% of the vote. You don’t change a club constitution on that. Ludicrous!!

Over 17 million people voted to leave the EU. Not to “sort of leave.” Not to “align where convenient.” Not to slowly drift back in through the back door. To leave. And yet, since 2016, the political class on all sides has done everything possible to dilute, delay, reinterpret, or quietly reverse that decision. Now we’re told “alignment” is in the national interest. What that really means is rule-taking without representation. No vote. No veto. Just accepting EU rules all over again. Brexit hasn’t “failed.” It’s been managed in a way that ensures it never fully succeeds. That’s not democracy. That’s political reluctance dressed up as pragmatism.

Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty. The Tories and Reform UK voted against. Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.

Rachel Reeves was warned before the Budget that her tax raid on the betting industry would backfire - but she pressed ahead anyway. She just doesn’t understand that punitive tax rises end up being self-defeating. You can’t tax your way to prosperity. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

@UKLabour I suggest as leader of the opposition you make your points in private. Don’t try to make political points in a war situation like this!! Let’s have a grown up reaction to what’s going on.

@GMB @susannareid100 @LouisaJamesITV Whatever your thoughts on what Trump and America has done and whether you believe Starmer and Britain’s stance is correct or not. Trump is not a decent man, more like a child who stamps his feet when he can’t get his own way! I would not want to work with him or know him!!

Chancellor just stood up for the #SpringStatement. As noted yesterday, they say this'll only be macro-economic so outside my bag. There are many great commentators out there who know far more on this than me. So unless there's direct Consumer Finance measures I won't be posting.

@GreenJennyJones If they are tax exiles and don’t pay tax on this country, then surely they should be charged for anything including repatriation and NHS? Or maybe I am wrong, seems fare though. Although under Labour you can’t blame businesses for moving abroad!! So there is another argument!

Alderley Edge School for Girls in my constituency has announced its closure blaming increased costs - fundamentally Labour’s VAT on school fees. Here I am asking what the government is going to do to minimise the disruption to these pupils’ education as this school closure is due to their vindictive, class warfare policies.

@gorbalsgoebbels There is no wheel spin towards the working man, as you put it, as there will be no net gain. Also the working man is paying for private education!! That’s what these Labour 🤡 can’t see!!

Actually starting to think it’s the tax on private schools which has pissed off the Oxbridge elite and our media class. They’ve had it good for centuries. The wheel spins towards the working man when Labour is in power. And the rich do not like it.
