@PappenheimWx Not where I lived in 94. It took over a year just to clear up the debris. And that was in a city with city services to help. It may seem worse because a tree crashed on her house this time.

The damage is severe in Oxford, MS. Thousands are without power, and full-sized trees have crashed through homes. Barbra Hoggard shared her story with me this morning after a massive tree fell straight through her garage. When I asked her to compare this storm to the 94 ice storm, she said, “That was child’s play compared to this one.”

If you think our nation is in trouble now, just wait… As our streets boil over with hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness, is there something we can do? You bet there is. I would like to call for a time of prayer and repentance this Wednesday, January 14, at 12:00 noon. As a nation, our sins are so great. We have increasingly turned our backs on God and His commands, embracing godless secularism. We need to ask His forgiveness and seek His face. Pray for our leaders, and pray that God would bring calm to our streets. There are many who would like to stir things up—there are even those who would like to destroy this great country. Pray that these efforts would be thwarted and their plans would be brought into confusion. Ask God to use His Church to be His instruments of peace in this time of great uncertainty. Remember, this Wednesday at noon, please stop and pray. Millions of people remembering our sins and asking for forgiveness, repenting, and seeking His face will make a difference. Let’s humble ourselves. Let’s give God the glory for this great nation and thank Him for His hand of blessing, protection, and mercy.

Sharing my case for Dale Murphy to be elected to the Hall of Fame. It's long overdue. This is my story, one of a generation of TBS kids with their fingers crossed for Sunday. If you're a #Braves fan, please read and share, if you would be so kind. fromthediamond.com/post/it-is-tim…

Those of us advocating for @DaleMurphy3 to go to Cooperstown are doing this because there is no doubt in our mind he is so deserving. Let's remember what the HOF says in what should determine who goes in from this committee: "The Committee shall consider all candidates and voting shall be based upon the individual's record, ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character and contribution to the game." Is there any doubt? We know what we saw when watching the games. But let's see if he qualifies... 1) The individual's record - The stats are there. Murphy compares well to every current Hall of Famer from this era and from other eras of baseball. Check. 2) Ability - This gets lost in the discussion. What is a five-tool player? A complete performer, an athlete who excels at (1) hitting for average, (2) hitting for power, (3) speed, (4) throwing -arm strength, (5) fielding ability. Check, Check, Check, Check, Check. He excelled in every area. 3) Integrity - Check 4) Sportsmanship - Check 5) Character - Check These categories require little discussion. 6) Contribution to the game - He was the face of baseball for an entire region of the country AND was popular all over the country due to WTBS. He continues to contribute to the game through his Foundation and spending times with his fans who love him for what he did to contribute to the game. Check. I've been amazed by reading comments on different social media platforms from all his fans, most of whom say, "He should have already been in" and sharing stories of when they met Murph or why he means so much to them. We've had our media platforms to speak the loudest, but the quantity of what has been said adds so much to the quality of his candidacy in checking all of these boxes. It's just time. @MurphyToTheHall MurphytotheHall.com

I’ve had a front-row seat to one @baseballhall candidate my whole life — my dad, @dalemurphh3. People talk about the “character clause” keeping guys out. For him, it’s the opposite — his character is a reason we often say to put him in. I see it on display constantly: camping with his grandkids, hyping up crowds with my daughter in the DR, planning surprise picnics for his granddaughters, and he and my mom pouring their lives into helping my brother with special needs live a full, joyful life. It’s not just the big things you see in public. He does the little things too. But make no mistake. On the field, he was one of the most dominant players of the ’80s. And baseball fans everywhere remember it. I hope we can remember the dominant ones of the 80s this weekend.

The Hall of Fame Era Committee meets this Sunday, December 7th. Dale Murphy needs 12 of 16 votes. You never know who will see this and their vote may be the one that puts Murph over the top. Please retweet if you love Murph and believe he deserves to be honored in Cooperstown.

Part 3 - Do You Remember 1987? Dale Murphy celebrated his seventh year as an All-Star, had one of only five 40 HR seasons in the 80's, and hit his 300th homer! #MurphyToTheHall A final thanks to Ernie Johnson (@TurnerSportsEJ) for his support with this video series!
