The big scope is ready to go! This night, I will give the @zwoasi 2600 MC an actual planned and prepared first light. The focus motor is also on there, with my custom adapter. Really excited about the next two nights of #Astrophotography!

@astro_addict Alternatively use Astrometry. Based on that you will see what is the delta to nominal FL in mm. Now you will have to adjust this by changing the distance between primary and secondary mirror. This is done by screwing central screw on the secondary mirror.

Just tried to collimate the RC and go after Bodes Galaxy. Hut I can't for the love of get get the collimation right. Does anyone here use an artificial star for that, are they useful?

@Butzzze What you are seeing is probably related to stiction. In my case meshing of the geers was soo tight that belt was streathing too much while trying to correct the Dec backlash.

@Butzzze I would suggest that you loosen the Dec gear meshing. Also try the unidirectional Dec guiding. This is the approach that helped a lot in my case with cem26.

Feels so good to be outside again! I forgot one power cable, but luckily I had a Y adapter with me.

@Butzzze I have seen this issue mentioned on cloudy nights. In my case I have used the mount ony for 2h so still too early to have any conclusion.

@spockm But what is bugging me extremely: After several smooth hours the RA axis suddenly begins to stop rotating for a few seconds. I can hear how the steppers stop buzzing and after 5-10 seconds everything is good again. Super annoying!

Finally!!! After I got a DEC backklash of over 10 SECONDS I thought "well, there is east-heavy for RA, why not try nose-heavy for DEC". And it seems to work! RA RMS 1.3", DEC RMS 0.6". Nice!

@Butzzze Did you talk with ioptron about that? I home I will continue testing today.

@spockm I tried the gear meshing but it was not successful. Maybe you have more luck.

@Butzzze Thanks. I will probably try gear meshing. I must say it is quite worrying that Dec guiding is soo bad in auto mode.

@Butzzze How did you reduce dec backlash? I am heaving similar issues witm cem26.
