@caIoriephobe @choiminhodiet I def agree with that statement I think so many choices are only made bc of what's been ingrained into us growing up. But in the end we should let ppl do what they want with their looks. Also will very much keep reading and trying to learn as much as i can, wish u well too !!

@spongebobtwt @choiminhodiet I’m saying that that ‘choice’ is heavily biased and informed by the standards that are put in place by men, and women would likely not feel the need to get rid of something that occurs naturally on our bodies if not for men.

@choiminhodiet @caIoriephobe Some do, but obviously not as much as women do. It should be personal preference, but a lot of the time ppl choose to shave or not based off the patriarchy's standards which is extremely sad. But I also just don't care what other ppl do with their looks so

@choiminhodiet @caIoriephobe I completely agree and I think it's terrible that's what we have to deal with as women but these days wearing makeup isn't always for men. I think gyaru or a lot of alt subcultures could be used as examples as their makeup is usually about going against the beauty standard.

@caIoriephobe @choiminhodiet A woman fitting the beauty standard isn't misogynistic. Not everything we do is for men. Even if being hairy was the standard lots of girls would still shave bc that's what they like!! Plus, there's just tons of other reasons for shaving besides looks and appearance

@spongebobtwt @choiminhodiet Even if one may think they’re not doing it for such reasons, all women have been raised in a misogynistic society and it is deeply ingrained in us. You reinforce patriarchal standards when you cave into them by shaving, regardless of intention, the impact is the same
